Hu...?

Q: I want to be clear because I’ve heard you say this, and I’ve heard the President say it, but I want you to say it for my listeners, which is that the White House has never argued that Saddam was directly involved in September 11th, correct?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: That’s correct. We had one report early on from another intelligence service that suggested that the lead hijacker, Mohamed Atta, had met with Iraqi intelligence officials in Prague, Czechoslovakia. And that reporting waxed and waned where the degree of confidence in it, and so forth, has been pretty well knocked down now at this stage, that that meeting ever took place. So we’ve never made the case, or argued the case that somehow Osama bin Laden [sic] was directly involved in 9/11. That evidence has never been forthcoming. But there — that’s a separate proposition from the question of whether or not there was some kind of a relationship between the Iraqi government, Iraqi intelligence services and the al Qaeda organization.

Bridge Work

I don't know who did this. I really like it. I drive past this bridge every day on my way home from work. I get really excited when I get close to this part of my commute. I wonder if there will be a new piece or if some city slave painted over his last one. The city is really diligent about painting over his work. It hits me hard, I've seen him do some truly amazing pieces. Some of them last a month, others I've seen get painted over in a day. There are a few that I really wish I had a copy of. His last piece was my favorites, it looked like a silver splatter, you could still make out he lettering if you knew where to look. It was after that one got painted over that I decided I had I had to stop and take pictures of his work before the get painted over. So keep an eye out on this blog. I'll publish them here as they get put up.

One good thing about painting over his work is that he does new pieces, each one he does looks better then the last. As much as I liked his last piece this one is even better:

Comic Book Geek

Only 64%, again this is disappointing.

One reason why I KNOW GW Bush is Evil

I remember the live public announcement that President Clinton made when he admitted that he had lied under oath. It was big news and the video is burned into my memory along with where I was and who I was with when I saw it.

This video is bigger then that:

President Clinton may have ruined his marriage and lost the public trust as well as the Democrat’s chances at getting a new president in the white house. But at least no one died. Now this new video, proves that Bush lied to the public (again). He did know how bad Katrina was going to be and he did nothing. After that, how could you believe anything he says? I mean, even if you like him, how could you ever believe him? In my opinion, this is an unforgivable crime. If this is not an impeachable offence, I don’ know what is.

It’s been called the most anticipated natural disaster, and the loss of life and property way out does 9-11. 100,000 people washed out of their homes. 6,000 are still missing, even if less then half are dead that’s still more then the ones that died in 9-11. Just like 9-11 there were warnings that were ignored. I’m still trying to figure out why? Seriously if you knew this was going to hit and you knew how hard, how could you do nothing?

Why am I blaming GW for this and not FEMA director Michel Brown? I also don’t blame Brown because of Hurricane Pam. Pam was not a real hurricane, it was disaster planning exercise that the Bush administration funded. It was never finished. A 121 page draft showed that New Orleans would not withstand that kind of hurricane. It showed that the hypothetical destruction would be too expensive to repair. In June of 2005 Brown wrote a memo to Homeland Security telling them that he was concerned with the direction that emergency management was taking and told them it was doomed to fail. In August of 2005 everything that was outlined in that draft of Hurricane Pam came true.

Brown was a puppet of Bush, now he’s the scapegoat. He was unqualified to fill the position that Bush appointed him in. It’s no wonder he’s having a tough time finding a new FEMA Director. Who’d want to take the position knowing that GW’s not going to back you up if anything goes wrong.

It wasn’t always like this for FEMA. FEMA did a great job after 9-11. I have first hand experience with FEMA fixing LA after the 1994 Earthquake. But using 9-11 as an excuse GW Bush rolled FEMA into Home Land Security, killing all of it’s power. So it’s clearly his fault. And you cant say he couldn’t have known this would happen, he could have simply asked his Dad.

Remember GW’s Dad? Do you remember Hurricane Andrew and the backwater scandal? Hurricane Andrew hit the southern cost of Florida and it took FEMA 5 days for federal troops to arrive. It’s one of the reasons that Bush Senior lost his reelection and one of the reasons Clinton won. Knowing this, Clinton appointed James Lee Witt as director. Witt was the first FEMA director in history with direct emergency management experience. Witt left after GW was sleeted as the new president. But during Witt’s 7 years as director he did a lot to get America ready for natural disasters. That’s why FEMA was so good after 9-11 and with the LA Earthquake. It was after FEMA was rolled into Homeland Security that if failed to be effective.

But none of this answers my question. I still don’t know why GW Bush did nothing. Put yourself in his shoes. Knowing how many people were going to die or loose everything they own, knowing for a fact that 100,000 people were going to be displaced, and knowing that you could make that 100,000 number lower by sending aid right away, could you sit back and do nothing? He knew, and he did nothing. If that’s not evil I don’t know what is.

Who says video games make you weird? Where's the evidence?

Oh, it's here:

Juggling Community in Fierce Competition

Thanks goes to Karin for pointing this one out to me. There's a pretty entertaining video of Chris Bliss floating around on the web. He juggles a fun routine to a Beatles song, turn up your speakers and check it out:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=z965UUEmdB8

But hold on a second, there's controversy in the juggling community. Jason Garfield says he can not only copys the routine but adds two more balls to the mix:

Who knew the juggling community was so fierce in competition. I don't know who to side with, the guy who came up with the entertaining idea in the first place or the guy who showed he was better then him. Hmmm....hay, check out this kid juggling while playing Dance Dance Revaluation:

More Snakes on a Plane

When I first heard about this movie I made fun of it every chance I could get. I still don't expect it to be any good, but I think if Sam Jackson and the rest of the crew have any wits about them, they'd turn the film into a camp fest. Cater to the internet crew that made it legendary. Check out this recent interview that Premiere rag did of Sam Jackson:

Q: Which brings us to your upcoming sensitive human drama, Snakes on a Plane, for which you lobbied the producers to stick with the title rather than change it to Pacific Air Flight 121.

A: They had already changed the title when I got to Canada to start shooting. I let it go for a while. Then one day all the producers were standing there, and I'm saying, "So are you seriously going to leave this name like this?" And they're going, "Yeah, we don't want to give too much away to the audience." I'm like, "Yeah you do. That's the way you get them in here. Nobody wants to see Pacific Air Flight 121. People want to see Snakes on a Plane." When I picked up the script and I saw the title, I didn't even read it and I said, "I want to do it." You know, before I opened the first page, Snakes on a Plane. If this is what I think it is, I want to be in this. I want to be on a plane full of poisonous snakes. And I want to see other people on a plane full of poisonous snakes. You say Snakes on a Plane, people who don't like snakes are intrigued. The people who don't like to fly are intrigued. The people who don't like both are totally terrified now. People who just like seeing mayhem are ready for that. They want to see, you know, people enclosed in a big tin tube getting attacked by poisonous snakes. Come on! What could be more exciting than that, you know? What do you do? What do you do until the plane lands? Come on, Snakes on a Plane, that's the title. And, you know, somebody heard that comment, people on the Internet got behind it. "That's right! [pounding the table, with gruff voice] We want Snakes on a Plane!" So now, there's, I don't know, five, six websites, you know, that are dedicated . . . There are T-shirts, there are bags, there are jackets . . . Snakes on a Plane. [pauses, then looks wide-eyed] And by the way, you get some good snakes too!
