Enough of Hot Coffee alredy!

I only have 3 things to say about this article. I don't even play this video game. I hear it's fun, but I can care less. It's just not my kind of game.

1- First of all, it's a game about stealing cars, selling drugs, pimping and beating up whores. And you object to the sex? Get a clue! It's called Grand Theft Auto for crying out loud!

2- Now all politicians are looking for a cheep opening like this so they can volley for a cheep votes. Please, please, please ignore them. Instead let's stick to real issues please. Things like: G. W. Bush and his endless war, the fact that he lied to start it. I can think of 2 other presidents who lied on TV and both faced impeachment hearings because of it. But his lies mean lots of US solders died. The fact that were turning the progress of the recovery over to commercial enterprises so that he can look like he's bringing more solders back, at the same time he's taking a huge cut of that spending. The fact that the "Clear Skys" act is sending much more crap into the air, and the "No Child Left Behind" is a flat out failure. Lets focus on real issues not the fact that parents can't buy a Pimping, Whoring, Drug Dealing video game without the fear of exposing their kids to sex.

3-Who suffers from politicians looking for cheep votes? YOU DO, you complain that there's nothing good on TV, or in the movies, bad video games? This is the reason why. It's not because you can't tell a good story without sex, it's because it becomes harder for studios to take a chance. It's to expensive. They have to hire someone to go over the content so that they won't get sued like this. That person is most likely going to cut out things you would never have objected to in the first place in order to justify their job. That's why you end up with watered down content.

PS: Hillary Clinton, please don't run. We need to win this election. Really, we do. And democrats, please grow some balls alredy, support Dean, you elected him knowing he'd speek his mind. He seems to be the only one willing to do it. And yes looking different from the Republicans will help, no really it will.

Book Recomendation

SomeoneComesToTown

I bet you thought I'd never finish "The Golden Compass." Now that have access to my web pages again, I can update my sidebar. But I wanted to tell you about a book I'm reading: "Someone Comes to Town, Someone Leaves" This book is by Cory Doctorow, and like his last three novels, you can download it for free. I bought my copy because I like to red in a comfy chair, not at the computer.

I started this book knowing that my pre-ordered copy of the new Harry Potter book was on it's way. I was so impressed with this book that I couldn't put it down when the HP book arrived. It's a great read and a lot of fun. It's not your normal novel, it's pretty strange, but I highly recommend it if your looking for something to read!

Guess What I'm Doing This Weekend

Beck and The Gibson Amphitheater

That's right I'm seeing Beck and The Gibson Amphitheater. WHA HOO! I've never seen Beck live. I love his new CD, I expect this to be a great concert!

Added:
I just got back from the concert. They were awesome. That was one of the best concerts I've ever been to hand down. Both the music and the show was well done. Beck did an amazing job, I love it when an artist like him mixes up his own work and does a twist on his songs. He turned a couple of his dance songs into ballads. What an amazing show.

The opening acts weren't bad either. The first was called "TV Sheriff and the Trailbuddies" It was more of a VJ show then a band, but they were a lot of fun. At first I didn't know what to think of them. They seemed a little to in-your-face but by the end of their act I was sold. I ran out to the lobby to pick up a CD but there wasn't any. Check out their website and you'll see what I mean:

The second act was The Decemberists who I thought I never heard of before, but their opening song "Cliffs of Dover" reminded me who they were. The were also a great band.

Over all it was a great show.

This was the view from my seat at the A's game this past weekend. I'm not a big baseball fan. But I had fun, and I had to admit these were good seats.
