2 Fun MP3s

I have found two MP3s on the web that I thought you might enjoy.

The more you know about Radiohead the funnier you'll think this is:

This is Eric Idle's new song, I have to say he still has his edge:

Still Groggie

Okay, to tell you the truth, I couldn't read my last post either. Now that I'm slightly more awake I thought I should expand on what I was trying to say the first time:

On Sunday evening I started feeling bad. Allison and I were shopping at Borders at the time. I was looking at kids books and Allison was picking up her latest issue of her British child raising magazine. Then I started to feel all woozy like. I sat down on some stairs while Allison payed for her magazines. I tried to get home as quickly as possible, but I couldn't get there fast enough. I had to pull over to the side of the road.

Once we did get home, I tried to go to sleep, but my stomach just wouldn't let me. At around 2 AM Allison decided to drive me to the Hospital. They were pretty busy at the Hospital so it took them a long time to get to me. Once they did, they diagnosed me with food poisoning and gave me an I.V. The I.V. was mostly watter, I was dehydrated. So dehydrated that they had to poke me 3 times before they could find a vain that would work. We left the Hospital at 8 in the morning. Allison stayed by my side the whole night, so the next day the both of us were pretty exhausted and slept all day. On tuesday I was able to try and eat again, and ever sense then I've been slowly eating different kinds of food, trying to get my energy back, but I'm still really tired.

That same weekend Shrek 2 did amazingly well in the box office. I'm thrilled, but as you might understand, I'm not exactly jumping up and down. I hope this post makes more sense:)

Shrek 2 Makes 128.9

Some of you may be wondering why I'm reporting Shrek 2's amazing weekend. Well on that same weekend I caught a bit of food poisoning and have been flat on my back for the last couple days. But I'm starting to feel better, still really sleepy but that's probably due to lack of caffein more then anything else.

I'm am thrilled at the success of Shrek 2, I'm glad I could be a part of it. If you'd like to find out more I found this to be a good article:

I will write more when I'm more awake:)

I'm Quotiable

I was just quoted in The Denver Post regarding Shrek 2. It's kinda cool, and kinda weird at the same time. The author does a good job pointing out that computer animation is only successful because of the story and the characters, not because of the medium. I do appreciate that. But he also argues that traditional animation will find a new life in DVDs. This is hard to believe. He says that DVDs take only $10-15 million to make top quality animation. That's simply not true. $10-$15 usually means the animation was made in some sweatshop in another country. On top of that, the movies usually are really bad quality, and make their money off of brand recognition. Traditional animators who live in this country who have spent decades mastering their craft simply can not afford to move their familys to another country. The fear that traditionally Animation will die out isn't necessarily the idea that the style will fade out. But the craft that is handed from one great master animator to another will die out because of lack of practice.

That said, he did do a good job of quoting me. I am quoted calling this time in history the "Third Golden Age" for animation. That's kinda cool, I don't know if I'm the first to say "The Third Golden Age" but I hope I am. Anyway, you'll find me on the bottom of the article amongst the last five paragraphs.

Shrek 2 Thursday night returns:

Shrek 2 made 9,158 last night. This is very good even though it seems lower then Wendsday's returns. Boxoffice Mojo predicts that it'll make 89 million over the weekend. Boxofice Mojo is usually about 1 or 2 million off. I hope it makes over 90. 90's a nice round number.

Shrek 2 Wednesday Returns

Shrek 2 is at 11.78 after it's first day. Whahoo. That's pretty darn good for a Wednesday. Especially considering that most movies only make 2.5 in a week. Lets cross our fingers and hope it keeps up like this!

Addition: The complete number of the first day is: $11,768,000

MORE NEWS:

I just found out about this bit of information from Animated News:

Shrek 2 grossed $11,768,000 in its first day of release, thus beating Toy Story 2's record for largest Wednesday opening for an animated film by more than $1.5 million. DreamWorks will release Shrek 2 into 426 more theaters on Friday. Thus, with a total of 4,163 theaters, Shrek 2 will become the first movie to play in more than 4,000 theaters simultaneously.

That's cool, go Shrek 2 go, go!!!

Cold Turkey By By Kurt Vonnegut

"How about Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, the Beatitudes?

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God. …

And so on.

Not exactly planks in a Republican platform. Not exactly Donald Rumsfeld or Dick Cheney stuff.

For some reason, the most vocal Christians among us never mention the Beatitudes. But, often with tears in their eyes, they demand that the Ten Commandments be posted in public buildings. And of course that’s Moses, not Jesus. I haven’t heard one of them demand that the Sermon on the Mount, the Beatitudes, be posted anywhere.

“Blessed are the merciful” in a courtroom? “Blessed are the peacemakers” in the Pentagon? Give me a break!"

This is an excerpt from an article that Kurt Vonnegut Jr. wrote for "In These Times." I've always been a big fan of his work. He is 81 now but he hasn't lost any of his wit. It's a great article, I encourage all of you to read the rest:

Shrek 3D

Shrek 3D came out on DVD today. Shrek 3D is a ride film that we worked on at PDI/Dreamworks for Universal Theampark. It tells the tail of Shrek and Fiona on their way to their honeymoon, and much comedy/adventure ensues. I'll be picking up a copy of it this week.

Bill O'Reilly tries to bury Fresh Air Interview

According to Boing Boing, Bill O'Reilly is trying to bury his interview he did on Fresh Air. It's questionable whether or not the interview is staged. Both ways. I think that O'Reilly was planning on walking out to begin with, he's never liked public radio, so why would he agree to an interview. And it's pretty clear that Terry Gross is attacking him. But to Gross's defence, O'Reilly is known for attacking of intervewers who don't agree with him after the interview. Gross is, I'm sure acting in self defense, and she talks about it in the interview. All in all I think it's worth listening to. To read more, check out the link:
